The notion of a decentralized and distributed transaction database was initially conceptualized in the early 1980s. It wasn't until a 1991 whitepaper by Stuart Haber and W. Scott Stornetta that the practical implementation of digital documents emerged.

An individual from Florida utilized 10,000 bitcoins to purchase a pair of Papa John's pizzas, marking the inaugural instance of using Bitcoin for a product transaction. At that juncture, the bitcoins were valued at approximately $40.
