An activist and linebacker with a unique story and mission, Josh grew up in Houston to working-class parents who instilled in him the value of persistence and hard work. Josh is an interesting case of an NFL player who came from an Ivy League school, Columbia University in New York City, and made it into the league as an undrafted free agent. During our conversation, Josh and I talk about his early days in the NFL, how he encountered and fought against racism in pro sports during the peak of the kneeling players’ protests, as well as his journey into content with the creation of Making America, a conversation series-meets-vlog where Josh makes stops around the country to talk to people about issues ranging from education to social justice and sports.
