Galaxy Donates Radio Equipment to Dickens, Motley, and Crosby County Sheriff’s Offices
Representatives from Galaxy present new radio equipment to the Dickens, Motley, and Crosby County Sheriff’s Offices as part of a regional public safety partnership.
Galaxy has donated new, state-of-the-art radio equipment to the Sheriff’s Offices in Dickens, Motley, and Crosby Counties, strengthening local law enforcement communication capabilities and enhancing emergency response coordination throughout the West Texas region.
The upgraded radio systems will allow deputies within each office to communicate more effectively and, for the first time, coordinate directly across county lines.
"Dickens, Motley, and Crosby counties have been tremendous partners as we continue to develop Helios into one of the largest data center campuses in the country," said Austin Storms, Co-Head of Data Centers at Galaxy. "Equipping their sheriff's offices with modern communications is one part of a much deeper investment we're making in West Texas for years to come."
The donation is part of Galaxy’s broader community investment program in West Texas, where the company operates its Helios Data Center Campus, one of the largest data center projects in North America, approved to support more than 1.6 gigawatts of capacity. Galaxy’s engagement in the region extends across public safety, healthcare access, housing, and economic and career development, including a seat on the newly formed Dickens County Economic Development Corporation board.
“This equipment strengthens our ability to communicate clearly and respond effectively,” said Jay Allen, Dickens County Sheriff. “We appreciate Galaxy’s support of our office and our community.”
“These radios provide capabilities our office has not had before,” said Robert Fisk, Motley County Sheriff. “This investment improves both coordination and public safety.”
“Direct communication with neighboring counties enhances our emergency response efforts,” said Corey Nunley, Crosby County Sheriff. “We are grateful for Galaxy’s partnership and commitment to our region.”
