Rick - 09/05/09 08:52:36 - 71.252.171.178Sea Education Association in Woods Hole is an extremely prejudiced organization that aims its programs at individuals from the New England part of the U.S. If you are not from New England expect to be treated differently. I know because I attended SEA years ago. For example, in the dormitory in which we were housed myself and the one student not participating in the following at-sea experience were housed in a room far removed from the other students. My Texas accent was a constant source of amusement and disdain to everyone including the teachers and other staff. And that's before we were at sea. The experience on the Westward was virtually slavery - we never got enough to eat and only once a week did we get more than 4 continuous hours of sleep. I could go on. If your hungry for a sailing experience go find something real at a yacht club, not the fake "Tall Ship" nonsense offered for a ridiculous amount of money at S.E.A.
