The Hong Kong Observatory is a department of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. It operates weather forecasting, tropical cyclone warning, radiation monitoring and assessment, and various other meteorological and geophysical services to meet the needs of the general public and the shipping, aviation, industrial and engineering sectors.
