Hospital Nursing Services Consultant (Rochester, NY) Email: resume@health.state.ny.us Date: Wed, 26 Aug 04:45 AM The NYS Department of Health is currently recruiting for an experienced professional Nurse to serve as a Hospital Nursing Services Consultant (HNSC) in the Western NY Regional Office located at 335 East Main Street, Rochester. This is a field position covering the counties of the Western NY Region. The HNSC will conduct surveys and complaint investigations of Health Department regulated medical facilities such as: hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living residences and other health care facilities to determine compliance with federal and state regulations. Minimum qualifications are current NYS license and registration as a registered professional nurse, and four years of public health, community health or other nursing experience in an appropriate facility setting. Two years of this experience must have been providing direct patient care and two years of this experience must have been in nursing supervision, supervising other registered nurses, or as a Nurse Administrator. Starting salary is $60,616 with benefits. Conditions of Employment: Provisional pending examination. The Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1987 mandates that surveyors of health facilities must complete a training and testing program. In addition to passing the NYS examination for this title, to retain certain positions, candidates must also be certified through the approved federal testing process.
