Earthquake at Yucca Shows Dangers of Radioactive Repository June 14th -- On the morning of June 14th, at about 5:40 PDT there was a 4.3 earthquake 20 kilometers (12 miles) SE of Yucca Mountain. The reading is considered a significant event by the seismology lab at the University of Nevada - Reno, and clearly demonstrates the inherent dangers of the proposed nuclear waste dump at Yucca Mountain.
